Dear Patients:
We are pleased to inform you that on Friday, May 26, 2017, our office upgraded to a more efficient Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system named Athena Health.
Benefits of this upgrade include a state-of-the-art billing service, which will enhance our ability to submit claims to your health insurance company, verify your eligibility before your visit, and allow us to submit to participating secondary insurance companies. Also, there will be an online Patient Portal, where you can access lab results, vaccine records, personal health information, and update demographic information.
Please keep in mind that we cannot transfer outstanding balances from our current billing system, Medical Mastermind. Therefore, for a limited period of time, you may receive two different billing statements. If you have any questions or concerns during this transition, our billing staff will be available to help you.
It is extremely important that we ask all patients to confirm and update their registration and health insurance information, as well as sign current HIPPA and Privacy Acts Authorizations. This will help us to be in compliance with Federal Regulations and the contracts we have with your health insurance companies, which perform chart reviews and site inspections on an annual basis.
With your patience and cooperation, we are confident that this upgrade will enhance our ability to provide excellent health care, as well as focus on our patients’ needs in a more personalized and efficient health care environment.
Through the first week or two after May 26, 2017, you may notice some delays during the conversion. Your patience and understanding will go a long way in helping our doctors and staff through this transition.
